Chye-Ling Huang is a Chinese-Pakeha writer and director for film and theatre and co-founder of Proudly Asian Theatre. Her award-winning original plays include Orientation and Call of the Sparrows.

She was the 2019 Grimshaw Sargeson Fellow and 2024 Asian Ink winner for her solo show Henderson Changes a Lightbulb, and the co creator and co host of The Rawdog Gaysian Playwright Challenge with Sean Rivera.

Her work spans theatre, film, and podcasts, including Asian Men Talk About Sex (Loading Docs), queer body-swap series Life is Easy, and the award winning TVNZ comedy series Camp Be Better.

Chye-Ling is a passionate advocate for Asian representation in the arts, with a decade of initiatives under PAT developing Asian talent in theatre.
