Michael Giacon is a poet, songwriter and performer. Born and raised in Auckland, he is from a large Pākehā-Italian family.

In 2016 he graduated with a Master of Arts in Creative Writing from AUT, and the same year won the Kathleen Grattan Prize for a Sequence of Poems. He was the NZPS/a fine line Featured Poet summer 2021, and has been published in various journals including Landfall and the Poetry New Zealand Yearbook.
