Gina Cole is Fijian and Pākehā and lives in Tāmaki Makaurau.
She won Best First Book Award at the 2017 Ockham NZ Book Awards for her collection Black Ice Matter. Her work has been widely anthologized and has appeared in numerous publications.
She is a qualified barrister and solicitor. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing. Her science fiction fantasy novel Na Viro (Huia, 2022) is a work of Pasifikafuturism.
