Michael Giacon (he/him) is a poet, songwriter, performer, MC and educator. He was a 1950s home birth in Maungawhau/Mt Eden, and apart from time in the Veneto, Italy, has lived, studied, worked, written and wondered all his life on the central isthmus of Tāmaki Makaurau / Auckland. In 2016 he graduated with a MA in Creative Writing from AUT, and the same year won the Kathleen Grattan Prize for a Sequence of Poems, with Argento in no man land, He was the NZPS/a fine line Featured Poet summer 2021, and has been published in various journals including Landfall and the Poetry New Zealand Yearbook.
